MAGIC Spell Studios

UX/UI Designer (Contract)

November 2024- May 2025

Rochester, NY

As a UI/UX Designer, I worked closely with clients to build strong relationships and ensure a clear understanding of their design requirements, translating feedback into impactful improvements. We would have rounds of feedback for each design, and I really loved getting to work alongside our clients and hear their every thought. I actively contributed to user research and QA testing to validate design decisions and enhance player experience. Leveraging tools like Figma and Unity, I crafted creative, user-centered solutions, from user flows and wireframes to UI art assets and interactive prototypes, that boost usability and player engagement in client games.

Accessible Learning Labs

Lead UX Designer

September 2023 - October 2024

Rochester, NY

I led the design of free educational labs for an NSF-funded project that gamifies accessibility and machine learning concepts, making complex topics more engaging and inclusive. As the lead designer, I mentored a team of junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to elevate the quality of our work. Drawing on principles from cognitive psychology, I developed new lesson plans tailored to how students learn best. Additionally, I had the opportunity to completely redesign the company’s front-facing brand image. As part of this, I conducted research on our audience, as well as similar audiences, and created a cohesive branding package and comprehensive asset library to support the project’s visual identity and scalability. I worked not only on the website, but also on marketing materials such as letterheads, business cards, and email signatures.

I also developed user-centered solutions for incorporating a nonprofit lease option into the Acura ZDX vehicle checkout experience. To guide and validate design decisions, I conducted user interviews and synthesized insights to enhance overall app usability. Additionally, I organized and executed a co-op volunteer event for the 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, strengthening community engagement and cross-team collaboration.

Education

Rochester Institute of Technology

Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Technology

Minor in Psychology, Minor in Sociology

2020-2025

While I was at RIT, I studied design with a mix of creativity and strategy. I took classes in brand design, game design, multimedia design, CRMs, and SEO tools. I also earned minors in psychology and sociology, which helped me understand how people think, feel, and interact with the world around them.

That mix of design and human behavior really shaped how I work. I focus on creating experiences that are clear, thoughtful, and made for real people. Whether I’m building a brand system or mapping out a user flow, I care about making things that feel right and are easy to use.
